Triangular Rear Loop

Reduces the gap between interconnected shanks by pulling the shanks closer together resulting in flies with tighter, more integrated bodies.

Triangular shape is easier for the jaws of the vise to grip and hold the shank, especially important with the smaller size shanks.

Loop eye

Stronger than a ring eye, the loop eye eliminates chance of shank failure enabling you to land bigger, stronger fish.

Extended Wire tags

The “tag end” of the shanks are now extended to run the full length of the shank. This means there are now 3 parallel wire strands creating an even base platform to wrap the thread and materials along the entire length of the shank. Temple Dog hair is a luxuriously soft and silky natural fur with a unique structure and neatly tapered points. No other natural material provides the same level of movement in the water. This is why many Salmon and Steelhead patterns use Temple Dog. It gives a vibrant, pulsating motion to your flies when used as wings.

Medium-sized braid made from overdyed rainbow mylar, suggested for tying both full bodies and partial ribbing.
It can also be unraveled, extracting the fibers composing the braid to obtain a flat Mylar for making wings or tails of small flies.
To achieve interesting color variations, it can be wrapped over other base threads, producing multiple shades of color.
Also available in a spooled version.
