Troy Murray

Troy Murray began fishing at a young age on Cape Breton Island where he was born and raised. Troy is an avid fly fisher and his passion is spending time on the rivers of Nova Scotia targeting Atlantic Salmon. 

Troy's fly-tying journey started approximately 10 years ago, first tying a few patterns for his own fly box. Having greatly developed his tying skills during the Covid 19 pandemic, Troy was presented with an opportunity to tie commercially for a well-known known outdoor retailer in 2022. Troy specializes in Trout and Salmon patterns and he has become well known in the industry for his talent on the vise. 

Troy is also a volunteer board member and fly-tying instructor with Heroes Mending on the Fly Canada, where he assists Veterans and First Responders, who are starting out on their fly fishing and tying journey.
